Hey HN, I'm Saai, one of the creators of Sylix. I made this open-minded version of Cursor where you can get all of the core features of Cursor but in a fully customizable IDE (Ctrl+K, @docs, parallel agents). We love Cursor so much, but there are so many other features we're building, including all things like multi-edit, parallel swaps, agent indexing (but not the traditional one), parallel LSP, or maybe... we might give agents a better understanding of the codebase via multi-semantic memory instead, alongside in-search grep for your system files or workspace. Sylix will be open source once…

Hey HN, I'm Andrew, one of the creators of Void. I made this open source version of Cursor where you can get all of Cursor's core features but in a fully-customizable IDE (ctrl+k, ctrl+L). We love Cursor but there are so many other features we want to build, like allowing AI to edit multiple files at once, or giving AI better understanding of your file system. Void is the open-source, fully customizable tool we've been wanting. The hard part: we're building Void as a fork of vscode. The repo has great documentation for extensions, but going deeper gets pretty involved. All of the code is…

I have spent large parts of the last 10+ years building an SQL Editor. The tool is targeted at data analysts, a lot of effort has gone into charting, visualizing and excel export. If this sounds useful to you, it's Free, please give it a try and let me know any feedback.

Hi everyone, I have been developing this editor, Ki, for over a year, and have employed it substantially in all kinds of development (including Ki itself) for at least 3 months. I think it is mostly crystallized, thus I'm happy to share it with you today. Its main strength is first-class multi-cursor and structural (syntax) editing, which is a rare combination in the realm of editors (TUI or GUI alike). Hope you'll enjoy it!

While Cursor has already revolutionized coding, you can still configure it to perform even better based on your language and framework. That's why we created Cursor Directory, a collection of the best cursor rules for your framework and language from the community. It's fully open source and you can contribute to it by submitting your own rules. Just copy and add a .cursorrules file to your project root! Let me know what you think!

Hey HN, we're Andrew and Mat and we're building Void, an open source Cursor alternative. Our editor is an open-source VSCode fork. Our primary goal is to create a fully-featured AI editor where you can keep your data completely private. Going open source is really important because it let us take the logic that would normally live on a server, like prompt building or message handling, and run it on your local machine instead. This way you can do things like self-host Llama 3.1 or Gemma and never have your data leave your computer. You can also just send your prompts directly to foundational…

I got fed up with Notion, so I built my dream document editor. It's all markdowned so it's easy to view skills or other agent-related documents. It's got the collaboration features I love from Figma (shared cursory and the ability to follow) and Google Docs (comments, realtime editing). Then you can export the diff and comments to an agent. I've been really liking it for talking over skill documents live on a call. I'm curious if this resonates with other people. More generally, I feel like notion is less and less relevant in an age where documents have a very different purpose and Markdown…

Hi, we're Sergey and Serafim. We've been building dev tools at 21st.dev and recently open-sourced 1Code (https://1code.dev), a local UI for Claude Code. Here's a video of the product: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sgk9Z-nAjC0 Claude Code has been our go-to for 4 months. When Opus 4.5 dropped, parallel agents stopped needing so much babysitting. We started trusting it with more: building features end to end, adding tests, refactors. Stuff you'd normally hand off to a developer. We started running 3-4 at once. Then the CLI became annoying: too many terminals, hard to…

I’ve been experimenting with embedding an Claude Code/Cursor-style coding agent directly into the browser. At a high level, the agent generates and maintains userscripts and CSS that are re-applied on page load. Rather than just editing DOM via JS in console the agent is treating the page, and the DOM as a file. The models are often trained in RL sandboxes with full access to the filesystem and bash, so they are really good at using it. So to make the agent behave well, I've simulated this environment. The whole state of a page and scripts is implemented as a virtual filesystem hacked…
