Hello HN, My girlfriend and I waste too much energy to decide what to eat. Every day, we would text each other, "what do we eat tonight" messages, and go over options and many times spend too much time on deciding. I am an indie dev and created this app to solve my own problem: decide with my girlfriend what to eat for dinner. Initially, I created a simple app, in which we listed all the recipes we ever prepared, and it would propose randomly three of them. We would then choose together one of them. This app[0] turned into a tinder-like app, which would propose every day a set of recipes to…

I kept deleting and redownloading Instagram because I couldn't stop watching Reels but needed the app for DMs. Tried screen time limits, just overrode them. So I built this. Dull loads Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X and filters out short-form content with a mix of CSS and JS injection. MutationObserver handles anything that lazy-loads after the page renders, which is most of the annoying stuff since these platforms love to load content dynamically. As someone with ADHD, depression and on the autism spectrum, I get in my head A LOT. Every time I run into an issue I create a tool for it. - I should post on Hacker News, but my app is not good enough > challenge my inner critic. - I want to binge eat instead of working > use the catch the urge feature and follow a strategy - Task is too overwhelming > task breakdown and copy the tasks to my notepad - I really don't want to get started on a task > procrastination solver Would love your feedback and any questions are welcome :)
