I've been working on Recall for a while now, it had some initial traction in the beginning which has since died down now. I am facing the inevitable question of whether to continue with the project. I just put out a new release and it would be helpful to get advice from the community on what they think of the idea and my implementation.

Quick background: I used to code. Studied it in school, wrote some projects, but eventually convinced myself I wasn't cut out for it. Too slow, too many bugs, imposter syndrome — the usual story. So I pivoted, ended up as an investment associate at an early-stage angel fund, and haven't written real code in years. Fast forward to now. I'm a Buffett nerd — big believer in compound interest as a mental model for life. I run compound interest calculations constantly. Not because I need to, but because watching numbers grow over 30-40 years keeps me patient when markets get wild. It's basically…

Yoooo HN, I'm Lucas Schiavini and I built Regrets.io, a platform to share regrets and to let your inner curious child endlessly look for pros in cons in everything. It's supposed to be simple and scrollable and a place for you to research anything you want and get easy pros and cons. So why not just use reddit? I've been on endless reddit threads on posts to gather all the info I needed to buy my legion go, my remarkable tablet, my new macbook, and I'd really love to find all their info under one page, extra points if an ai can summarize the pros and cons from the user answers(regrets.io…

I've been working on this tool that lets you build a personal knowledge graph from articles, blog posts, podcasts, YouTube videos, and other content you find interesting online. You can safely forget everything and trust that Recall will resurface it when something new that is related comes up. Looking forward to your thoughts and feedback on how it could be improved! The original version of Recall was posted last year nov on HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33425947 Since then I have pivoted to a browser extension.

Hey HN, We explored how decision-making happens under severe information asymmetry and used career exploration as a test subject. In practice, people converge on a small set of highly legible default paths, with little visibility into credible alternatives. That’s why we’re building Fig, a tool for reasoning about career paths when the next step isn’t obvious, given the dependence on fleeting personal preferences. Most existing tools respond by collapsing uncertainty into a single recommendation or by modeling careers as linear trajectories. That works reasonably well at the recruiting…

In life's journey, the quality of our decisions often determines our path. After many trips around the sun, the most impactful advice I could give the younger generation is to hone your decision quality. Life presents us with a continuous series of choices, frequently made with limited information and an abundance of unpredictable variables. By optimizing our decision-making process, we increase our chances of staying on a favorable path. I make so many decisions in personal and professional spheres that I wanted to make it as easy as possible to get straight to the point. My goal was…

Read the Tape gives players the same 5 S&P500 stock charts per day to predict. You select low, medium or high confidence and then call the chart UP or DOWN. It's a 1d chart which then resolves over 5 days. Alpha is scored against the Monkey Index, a basket of 11 random coin flips at low confidence which provides a tangible win/lose condition. We're two weeks in and some interesting data is being kicked up. Players like to call tops even though stonks go up- 60% of the 70 charts so far resolve higher, players' down calls have only been right 31% of the time. There's a full stats dive at…
