Hi HN, I forked chromium and built agent-browser-protocol (ABP) after noticing that most browser-agent failures aren’t really about the model misunderstanding the page. Instead, the problem is that the model is reasoning from a stale state. ABP is designed to keep the acting agent synchronized with the browser at every step. After each action (click, type, etc), it freezes JavaScript execution and rendering, then captures the resulting state. It also compiles the notable events that occurred during that action loop, such as navigation, file pickers, permission prompts, alerts, and downloads,…

Much of my work right now involves complex, long-running, multi-agentic teams of agents. I kept running into the same problem: “How do I keep these guys in line?” Rules weren’t cutting it, and we needed a scalable, agentic-native STANDARD I could count on. There wasn’t one. So I built one. Here are two open-source protocols that extend A2A, granting AI agents behavioral contracts and runtime integrity monitoring: - Agent Alignment Protocol (AAP): What an agent can do / has done. - Agent Integrity Protocol (AIP): What an agent is thinking about doing / is allowed to do. The problem:…

Admittedly I work on this, but I anthropic's decision to finally embrace http, auth (at least a little), and other RFCs that are coming out is just great. With OpenAI behind it too, this ecosystem will be built around projects like this. Not saying it's MCP or not, but it'll be one of them

The only way to go fast is full YOLO mode in your coding agent. I've got the local sandbox figured out (pro tip: Incus VMs work great) but I wanted to keep my agents from doing things like inadvertently blowing up my cloud services or chasing a prompt to POST to some random website. I struggle most with this on my side projects where my permission model isn't quite as robust as it is at the office. I started with a firewall on the Incus container but every time the agent needed access to something new, I was poking more holes in it - and it didn't differentiate between HTTP verbs. I've been…

I built this after hitting the same wall repeatedly — no good way to enforce token budgets in application code. Provider caps are account-level and tell you what happened, not what is happening. Two ways to add it: # Direct client wrapper client = tokencap.wrap(anthropic.Anthropic(), limit=50_000) # LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, etc. tokencap.patch(limit=50_000) Four actions at configurable thresholds: WARN, DEGRADE (transparent model swap), BLOCK, and WEBHOOK. SQLite out of the box, Redis for multi-agent setups. One design decision worth mentioning: tokencap tracks tokens, not dollars. Token…
