Products that do what Trustmux – Lightweight Secure Daemon for Mobile Shell Access does

I'm Dustin Kirkland, author of Byobu[1]. I built Trustmux[2] to solve a personal problem: secure, encrypted access to my tmux[3] and Byobu sessions from my phone, without the pain of other mobile shell approaches. I run long-lived shells, Claude, and other sessions in the background on my workstation, and I needed to check in from mobile — securely, with real TLS certificates and Tailscale-backed privacy, not some insecure workaround. Why not SSH / Mosh / Claude Mobile? - SSH/Mosh: Synchronous connection state is brutal on mobile. Latency, network handoffs between WiFi and…

I do a surprising amount of dev from my phone now: SSH into a box, attach to tmux, and drive couple of coding agents here and there. Termux gets me pretty far on Android, and I still love it for its simplicity. But once I had a few tmux sessions across a couple of hosts, I wanted something that reduced keystrokes and felt friendlier for driving AI agents, especially things like sending them images. On iOS, I couldn't find something that gave me a similar experience to Termux. So I built TermRover: a native iOS/Android terminal built around tmux sessions and windows, with shortcuts for…

Hey HN, I've been working on Hansel [1] (an encrypted personal data store you can query with agents), and there wasn't a good way to use the modern macOS Data Protection Keychain. Electron's safeStorage [2] uses the legacy file-based keychain, which allows other apps/agents to query it with the `security` CLI. Not great when you have a dozen agents running in the background! The Data Protection Keychain is nice because it limits access via code-signing access groups and lets you set access rules like Touch ID and/or password. 1: https://hansel.so/ 2.…

I built SecureShare to solve a common problem I faced: securely sharing files between devices without size limits or intermediary servers. What it does: - Direct P2P file/text/folder sharing using WebRTC - No file size limits (only constrained by local disk space) - No registration required - All data stays on your devices (no server storage) - Supports multiple simultaneous receivers - Custom retrieval IDs and QR codes for easy sharing - Works across platforms, mobile-optimized Technical details: - Built with Next.js + Tailwind + shadcn/ui - Backend: Node.js + Redis (minimal,…

Hello HN, I've been working solo on Octelium for the past 5+ years now, (yes, you just read that correctly :|) along with a couple more sub-projects that will hopefully be released soon and I'd love to get some honest opinions from you. Octelium is simply an open source, self-hosted, unified platform for zero trust resource access that is primarily meant to be a modern alternative to corporate VPNs and remote access tools. It is built to be generic enough to not only operate as a ZTNA/BeyondCorp platform (i.e. alternative to Cloudflare Zero Trust, Google BeyondCorp, Zscaler Private…

Hey HN, There’s been a lot of interest recently in meta-harnesses, loops, and multi-agent orchestration. Obviously, there are already a lot of good tools: Conductor, cmux, the native Codex / Claude Code apps, etc. For my own use cases, I’ve felt that the orchestration layer tends to feel overengineered. I mostly wanted a simple local harness (i.e Pi) for running and tracking CLI agents with the ability to hop in (via tmux). Relaymux is my opinionated attempt at that. A few design principles: - The frontend is just Telegram / iMessage / CLI. If I want more visibility, I hop…

Hey all. I built ShellDash, an interactive server admin dashboard with shell scripting and an appealing globe UI. https://shelldash.com The goal is to provide a global monitoring view of your servers, with shell script access, in a way that feels natural and productive, plus a minimal and appealing UI/UX. The technology is fairly interesting. This being a browser app, I built a Go WASM SSH client running in the browser, proxied through my server WebSocket endpoints. This means I can provide you a Web UI to access your servers via SSH, without ever needing to see your…

Definitely one of those "20 minute adventure gone wrong" projects where all I wanted initially was a quick wireless rubber ducky for bitlocker keys and the like and then I kept adding stuff like AES-256..... Currently working on adding WebAuthn/FIDO support because the hardware is already there and scope creep is a lifestyle at this point. Would love feedback, especially on the security side. Repo and PCB files are fully open source.

Hi HN! After several months of work, I'm excited to share ProKZee, a free and open-source network security tool built with Go and React using Wails framework. ProKZee allows developers, security researchers, and penetration testers to intercept, inspect, and modify HTTP/S traffic — similar to tools like Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, and Caido — but with a fast native UI, modern UX, and some unique features. https://github.com/al-sultani/prokzee
