Products that do what TypeSpider – A clean, fast typing practice site with live key feedback does

I just launched Type Spider, a typing practice site I built to help improve speed and accuracy without the clutter or distractions found in some other tools. It's lightweight, mobile-friendly, and built using Vue and Tailwind. One feature I’m especially excited about is the on-screen keyboard that highlights each key as you type. It’s useful for beginners and helps build muscle memory. The site tracks words per minute and accuracy, and it works smoothly on both desktop and mobile. I built this solo and tried to keep things simple and fast. I’d really appreciate any feedback from the…

Over the last couple of months I have designed and written Keys, a Mac application the helps learning typing and that is supposed to meet Mac users standards for a well-designed application. My goal is to become a micro-ISV or indie developer. The app is only in the Mac app store for now (no trial yet), since end of May, and I have been busy putting together a website and a personal blog since. I would be very interested what the HN community thinks about the application, how you like it, and how it is presented, from a business angle. Prior to this project, I have done much more work on…

Traditional typing apps aren’t built for coding. They miss key features that coders need: 1) Syntax highlighting to replicate real coding environments. 2) Practice with tricky symbols like {, }, ;, and |. 3) Real-world coding snippets to make typing practice meaningful. So I built typinghackers in 8 days with go (pocketbase), react (yes, shadcn xd) and sqlite. Rsync to the vps and let it go.

Hi HN! I built Mnemeo after years of searching for the right flashcard app. I loved Memrise's typing mode and clean UI, but when they pivoted away from user-generated content, I had to find alternatives. Anki is powerful but wasn't quite what I wanted - the UI felt dated and the web version is limited. Plus I kept hitting ease hell. So I built what I personally wanted: a modern spaced repetition app where you choose between typing mode (for exact answers - spelling, code syntax, languages) or rating mode (for concepts and quick reviews). Same cards, different review styles based on what…

I’ve always liked fast online tools for jotting notes or organizing thoughts — but most “productivity” sites either save data to the cloud, require sign-ups, or are full of distractions. So I built an online productivity tools website, a small collection of browser-based tools. It includes an online notepad where you can write and save notes right in your browser, a cornell notes tool available in more than 20 languages, and more coming soon like a pomodoro timer and a simple blank page for focused writing. Everything works entirely in-browser using localStorage — no accounts, no cloud sync,…

Hi all, I threw together a small prototype I am calling “Notepad.ai”. A new take on UIs for interacting with LLMs. While I enjoy using LLM’s in the chat format I wanted to see what it would be like to do it in a more long form style. It let’s you write in a pretty free form, much like Window’s Notepad, but you can choose to hit ctrl+[ to analyze the text with a preset prompt of your choosing. It has a few other small features. It’s WIP and very experimental. I would appreciate any feedback or thoughts. Video: https://youtu.be/ntdlgFmSxQY Live Demo:…
