Products that do what US visa price calculator (O-1A, O-1B, EB-1A, EB-2 NIW) does

Just launched our pricing calculator. Our goal with this is to reduce unpleasant surprises as "hey, you didn't tell me about these government fees, I didn't plan for this expense", and also be 100% clear with everyone about what we charge -- so it's obvious that we don't adjust our fees based on your profile. We plan to include more visa types in this calculator, but for now it's what we have. Will appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

Heya! Not the usual sort of thing to be posted here, but I wanted to show off what I made yesterday. Here's a sample page about H1-B visas issued in Bogota: The code is source-available (not open source) at . It's my first time choosing a source-available license over MIT, mainly out of fear of existing immigration startups just gobbling this data and code up; frankly I didn't think the implications through though, I just threw a safe license on there. The way the project works is: - Use requests-html to find publicly available PDFs from government pages - Use camelot to OCR the PDFs and…

Excited to share my New Year’s project. For a long time, I’ve wanted to build H-1B data directly into Levels.fyi. Every time I went looking for this data elsewhere, it was a frustrating experience to use. Most H-1B sites felt antiquated, unintuitive, cluttered with ads, or just overwhelming to use. The data was there, but it wasn’t usable, and definitely not pleasant to explore. So out of that frustration, I decided to build the H-1B data experience I personally wanted to use. Right into Levels.fyi. https://levels.fyi/h1b/ Some other pages I'm excited about: Wage Heatmap:…

Hello HN Viewers, So this all started when we got super frustrated trying to figure out payment fees. You know how it goes – you have got a bunch of payment providers, each with their own fee reports, and trying to make sense of all that mess is quite challenging and complex. We thought, why not just build something that pulls all those fee reports together, cleans them up, and makes them actually understandable? So we built a tool that pulls in fee reports from multiple providers, standardizes fee names, and makes it easier to understand all fee types. You can drill down to see the exact…

Hey HN, I built an alternative to Google translate that's fast, accurate, and 1/30th the price. 20+ supported languages, not billed until 100k tokens, and already used thousands of times with real language learning users. The landing page has a demo for you to test performance yourself for free with no card required. (Also landing page says 1/13 the price because had to account for all 3 big names, with varying prices each). I built this as a workaround for my language learning startup, and it was perfect at a fraction of the cost. Hopefully it can help other devs in accessibility…

Hi HN, I've been working on an open sourced tool called Bank Rank to track bank account fees, rates, and balance requirements in the United States. For a quick primer, there are 4 broad categories of insured deposit accounts in the U.S.: Checking, Savings, Money Market, and Time Deposit. Banks oftentimes offer multiple tiers of each account, and with over 9,200 banks and credit unions, some quick back-of-the-napkin math means that there are over 70,000 accounts competing for consumers, with rates and fees that can change daily. I've personally grown frustrated with a number of problems[0]…
