24 alternatives to Vamoose, one-click hotel and flight finder powered by NLP

One of my favorite things to do over the weekends is to take a sidestep from full time development of Hitlist, my startup, and poke at other ideas that we’d love to eventually address within the travel space. In 48 hours I get to meet new people, learn about the latest technologies, and build

I built this tool because I wanted a way to just take a bunch of URLs or domains, and query their content in RAG applications. It takes away the pain of crawling, extracting content, chunking, vectorizing, and updating periodically. I'm curious to see if it can be useful to others. I meant to launch this six months ago but life got in the way...

A few months ago I shared my travel app here. Today I'm back with something that solved a real technical challenge I was facing. The problem: Parsing booking confirmation emails accurately. Built a parsing system that: - Distinguishes between connection hubs and actual destinations - Captures all segments (flights, hotels, trains) in the right order - Handles different booking site email formats - Creates complete itineraries automatically Happy to discuss more if anyone's interested :)

Hey HN, For the last several weeks, I have just been sleeping, eating, operating and developing itineraries.io. Rinse and repeat. I work as a surgeon in the UK. My main other passions are travel and programming. Recently, when I haven't been stitching someone up, I've been working on my project. Having always dreamed of exploring the world as a child, I struck a goldmine when I found a wife who shared the same love of adventure as me. We couldn't afford to travel much when we first met at university. Over the last couple of years, since both entering the workforce, we have been able to live…

Hi HN, I am Vaibhav - a founder based in Bangalore, India. Most founders build without knowing who their real competitors are or what users are actually asking for right now. We usually search Google, Twitter, Reddit manually and hope to catch signals - but it’s slow and incomplete, hence easy to miss important conversations.. This is exactly what Needle solves. I built Needle because I kept struggling to answer a basic question while building MoveOnFromYourEx (Ai tool that helps people move on after a breakup): "Where are the people who are already talking about the problem I am solving?" I…

I've built this as a side project last month. I know there are a few similar sites out there, but I've found them cumbersome to navigate with ads that slow down the experience. So I decided to take a stab at it and build my own version, with a minimalist UI (+ I implemented a custom right-click menu to enable navigation even when the UI is hidden), ad-free, just for fun. There are over 130+ cities that you can explore right now, but I'm constantly adding new ones.

Hey HN, We're excited to announce the public beta preview of Tripnotes, an intelligent travel planner that mixes a custom recommendation engine, our own data, and a bit of GPT to help you find the right places to go while traveling. Our team has been working hard on this project for 6 months, and we're excited to finally share it with the HN community. With Tripnotes, you can keep track of all your notes about travel when planning to visit a city. Paste in article URLs, videos, emails, text messages, any other text, and if you need some help with research, ask our Concierge which will…

Hey HN! I’m excited to introduce Companero, my open-source ridesharing solution! As a traveler, I often struggled to find rides in smaller cities. So I built Companero on Telegram using pure Java 21 and MongoDB. I recently added a rating system to this app to make rides safer, but all in all, you can request a ride using your location, can see recommended trip price based on your country (it has an index for each country and a currency converter) and much more features. I’d love your feedback and any questions are welcome! Thanks!

Hi HN! In the last couple of weeks I've been working on Cranki: Cranki = Crosswords + Anki. (It's a stupid name tbh, haha) I like doing crosswords in Spanish (to learn vocab) but none of the apps out there allowed me to use my own list of words that I come across. So I built one instead. It's entirely client-side. No server, no database, no accounts, etc. Your words and stats are stored in local storage. I built this for myself but let me know if you like it!

Inspired by thispersondoesnotexist.com, I built thistouristdoesnotexist.com, a lightweight weekend project that generates a new “synthetic tourist at a real landmark” on each refresh while keeping identity cues consistent across scenes, driven here by Gemini 2.5 Flash Image (aka Nano Banana). It runs on a tiny DigitalOcean droplet with a simple pipeline that pairs batches of synthetic faces with a curated landmark list and tries to avoid reusing the same face–place combo. I would love feedback on failure cases, hope you like it!

We built TripJam after being frustrated with planning trips in regular group chats and trying to organize information across multiple apps. It combines: - Group chat that keeps all travel discussions in one thread - Interactive maps where everyone can pin locations and add notes - Collaborative itineraries that sync with your calendar - AI travel assistant that suggests activities and helps optimize your plans This solves trying to coordinate information with everyone using messages, Google Maps, Google Docs, and travel guides. Everything syncs in real-time so everyone stays on the same…
