Products that do what A website for taking a virtual walk, drive or flyover in 130 cities does
I've built this as a side project last month. I know there are a few similar sites out there, but I've found them cumbersome to navigate with ads that slow down the experience. So I decided to take a stab at it and build my own version, with a minimalist UI (+ I implemented a custom right-click menu to enable navigation even when the UI is hidden), ad-free, just for fun. There are over 130+ cities that you can explore right now, but I'm constantly adding new ones.

I love culture + travel, and one of my favorite pastimes is dropping into random streets on Google Street View. I just LOVE getting a tiny snippet into how people live, the architecture, and discovering hidden corners of places I'll probably never visit. I'm kinda weird like that. http://impromptudo.com is a small project I've been working on. Just a webapp for now but I think it qualifies as an MVP. Also has a mobile version at the same url or http://m.impromptudo.com. Right now it pulls in data from meetup.com for upcoming meetups in several populous cities so it's not just an empty map. You can also click on the map to put up your own post. Trying to stay away from making it all social networky, there are plenty of those already.<p>Finally, I'm not a designer, as you can see.

Hello HN, I made the web app that helps plan your routes/road trips. It has so many options that I don’t know how to explain in simple words :), so I’ll try like this. What is cool about it is that your routes are shareable and hackable. This project started with me wanting to find a nice place to live with my partner. I'm a data scientist by day so I thought I'd approach it systematically. When I showed it to my friends, many said they wanted to try it too, so I made it into an app and put it online. Inspired by thispersondoesnotexist.com, I built thistouristdoesnotexist.com, a lightweight weekend project that generates a new “synthetic tourist at a real landmark” on each refresh while keeping identity cues consistent across scenes, driven here by Gemini 2.5 Flash Image (aka Nano Banana). It runs on a tiny DigitalOcean droplet with a simple pipeline that pairs batches of synthetic faces with a curated landmark list and tries to avoid reusing the same face–place combo. Many years ago (2007?) I put together this site: http://www.tripzard.com . I never launched it, because it was basically a MVP/POC so it's not very refined, but I just found it again today and was surprised it still kind of works decent. The idea was kind of like "Find Your Spot" where you answer a bunch of questions about what you like to do when you travel, and it calculates where the best places for your to travel would be.
