Products that do what Vehicle Microservice Framework (Python) – Dashcams and More does
https://github.com/jrcichra/smartcar Hey HN, This is my first microservices project. It's designed to be an extendable platform for collecting data about your car (and acting on it). It uses a "centralized pub/sub" message queue system I developed. This was designed for a Raspberry Pi, but has support for x86 (minus the RPi specific containers) I use Redis to manage the state of the car. The microservices currently communicate with TCP JSON payloads. In its current state, it can record dashcam footage and download it when you get home. Let me know what you think!

I am not sure if this is fits the HN community, but I am posting it here if people are interested. This is the current iteration of the car: http://i.imgur.com/ko8YBh.jpg Details: I wrote a simple android app that streams the accelerometer data from the phone to the pi over a simple socket. The pi then uses this data to drive the DC motor and the servo motor. Tilting the phone to control the car feels very natural. In this[0] pic you can see the wifi dongle I've used. I am using Adafruit Occidental v0.2[1] as my OS because it has support for my wifi dongle. It also makes some hardware…

Hi fellow HNers, We just opened up Bitdeli for free public beta at https://bitdeli.com Bitdeli allows you to process real-time data with plain Python scripts and access the results over a friendly HTTP API. You can use it to create live visualizations and dashboards without having to worry about servers. See examples here: http://bl.ocks.org/2009621 and http://bl.ocks.org/1983818 We would love to hear your feedback and comments!
