Since everyone seems to be making a github application, I thought I'd share mine. It's an aggregated view of all of a given person's github projects, as well as easyish lookups for linkedin/stackoverflow/hackernews. It attempts to determine both productivity (how much code did this person write?) as well as impact (did anyone care?) All— Lazy Sundays are for fun vibe coding, and this particular weekend, I decided to play around with the GitHub API. Ended up building this little app: GitHub Detective. It fetches the latest activity of a user, but in a nice way—you can filter by categories like PRs, issues, comments, etc., and easily navigate to them. You can also generate a sarcastic analysis of the user based on their activity, then download and share it with friends. :)

I built a GitHub app that detects it in pull requests, notifies or blocks them. Alongside it, I published a Semgrep ruleset for any stage of the CI/CD. I started this after getting frustrated by all the FUD around malicious code - lots of noise, little effort to solve it. Hello HN! I built a pre-commit code scanner that checks your staged changes for security vulnerabilities every time you run 'git commit'.
