Products that do what Voice-first todo list that updates live as you talk does
I built a demo of a voice AI task manager. You speak naturally and it updates your visible task list in real time. Try it here, no sign up: https://taskmaster.keithschacht.com I find it useful to talk aloud to figure out priorities. With this, I can just ramble, “Mark that first task as done. Actually undo that. Add a task to proofread it. Move that to the top…” It’s built on LiveKit with a Rails web UI. It listens continuously, maps speech to tool calls, and keeps full task-list state so it understands vague references like “the third item” or “the one with my kids.” Voice feels…

Hi HN - we’ve been working on a new UX for building realtime voice agents with minimal code. We’ve built a ton of voice agents in the past few years. We noticed that voice agent dev follows a pretty typical pattern: ⁃ Start with a “single prompt” version that dumps all relevant context and instructions into a one prompt, and provide access to all necessary tools the agent will ever need ⁃ As the agent gets more complex and users discover more edge cases, break the single-prompt version out into a more complex structure that gives a user more control over the precise conversational flow.…

Hi there - Ben from LiveKit here! If you’re curious about OpenAI’s brand-new Realtime API and speech-to-speech model, check out this hosted playground and play with the model yourself. If you’d like to learn more about how this came together, read on. If you’re like me, you’ve probably been wondering what novel things a model like this can do in an API setting with unfettered access to the system prompt and other parameters. I’ve been fortunate to have had early access through my work at LiveKit, where we’ve built open-source developer tooling that makes deploying this model in a production…

Hey there HN! I believe the future of AI communication will be more voice and less text. Low-latency realistic voice interactions are finally becoming feasible. I've built a few voice-first apps on Retell AI using Elevenlabs voices. This one uses Claude Haiku for responses and Mixtral to switch between posts and comments. The AI knows about the top 30 posts and their comments on Hacker News right now. After a Google sign-in you can try it free for 10 minutes. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
