Hey y'all, I've been using docker compose a lot in my local network, and managing setup between machines is a bit of a pain in the ass for me. I wanted an easy way to share complex configurations. At the moment most docker compose package management is done by adding a docker-compose.yml to your repo, adding a bunch of setup instructions, and hoping they are well followed. Waputer is an operating system that runs entirely in the browser. When you visit the website at https://waputer.app, a kernel written in JavaScript sets up a filesystem and launches a WebAssembly program, which in turn talks to the kernel to handle the display and input. Release 1.8.2 of wazero, the zero dependency WebAssembly runtime for Go, brings the amd64 compiler to 4 new OSes: NetBSD, DragonFly BSD, illumos and Solaris. The compiler also supports Linux, FreeBSD, macOS and Windows, on amd64 and arm64. This didn't require any changes to the compiler, just enabling it after setting up tests to validate that it already worked. Now the HN hook: noticeably absent is OpenBSD, which I failed to get working, even after taking W^X into account (we already had that for arm64 on macOS). If you wanna help, please drop us a note!
