Products that do what We made an interactive coloring experience for kids does
Hi HN community! Proud to have recently become a founder myself and now to submit a "Show HN". We are Dibulo, a young startup which is on a mission to redefine coloring sessions for kids! We have built our first worlds, sold our first coloring books and now we want to let the world know about us :) So far we have been praised by parents, and also got pretty good feedback from institutions like daycares and elementary school teachers. What sets our coloring experience apart? Not only do we bring vibrant templates on paper to life on screens, but we also introduce a captivating group activity.…

Hey HN! I used to spend hours drawing all kind of things as a kid. Sadly though, those drawings are long gone. Inspired by this, I created DoodleDreams. A webapp that brings drawings to life using AI and stores them as memories. You can always look back at the drawings, see who made them, and even know the age they were drawn at. I thought it was a fun way to preserve those memories. What do you think? Viktor

I've had an idea for a long time to generate a cute coloring book based on family photos, send it to a printing service, and then deliver it to people. Last month, when OpenAI's Sora was released for public use I (foolishly) thought I'd manually drag-and-drop each order’s photos into Sora's UI and copy the resulting images back into my system. This took way too much time (about an hour for each of the few books I made and tested with family and friends). It clearly wasn't possible to release this version because I’d be losing a huge amount of time on every order. So instead, I decided I'd…

Hello HN. This is a project me and some friends built at university in 2017. It was originally built in a rush, but we've added a few improvements over the years. It's a fun game to host at a demoparty and project on a big screen - We did that at Instanssi many times. The implementation is still rough, and suffers from the fast pace of the modern web - The frontend is likely very outdated, and the backend is built with Vapor 2 and Swift 3.1, both no longer supported. You can host this yourself, but it might be a bit of a pain to set up. The WebSocket protocol is fairly trivial to work out…

This app is a graphical programming environment for kids to learn coding by creating animations. Although we released it to the app store it's still more of a beta version and we would love to solicit feedback from HNers with iPads. To me, programming is something that kids could really enjoy but the obstacles in their way (getting a programming environment, publishing their code, learning syntax) make the barriers to entry unnecessarily high. We're hoping this will be a good first step in overcoming some of that. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/daisy-the-dinosaur/id490514278?ls=1&mt=8…

I created ColoringsAI for my 4-year-old daughter, who loves coloring but sometimes gets bored with the same old designs. With this app, you can type in any idea—like “a unicorn in a magical forest” or “a rocket flying through space”—and instantly turn it into a printable coloring page. It’s been a hit in our house, and now I’m sharing it with everyone! Check it out at ColoringsAI and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear your feedback or any fun ideas you come up with!

Hey all! I'm happy to announce we've finally released our 2nd macOS app, Draw Over It, a tiny desktop app that enables drawing, highlighting, or annotating directly on top of anything on your Mac. I've always wanted something like this for instant and unobtrusive sketching and annotation for pair programming and demos. I always found the standard web-based diagram and drawing tools a bit too cumbersome. So we built a simple overlay that could appear over any window or app with one shortcut. It doesn't collect any user data and doesn't require any system permissions - it's sandboxed. It all…

I built Color with my wife Jessica, who is trying to break into the AI scene as a product designer. This is her first AI product, and she designed it from the ground up to be fun for non-technical folks who don't have any experience or interest in AI. There's WordMode, which is your traditional text-to-image image generation prompting experience. Then there's KidMode, where you create new coloring pages by selecting a series of image icons like "Bear", "Baseball Hat," and "Glasses". It's super fun to try with littles (2-5 years old), they love it. There's something magical about selecting a…

Hello! I made a coloring / sticker book app that’s free - for those who often find themselves buying coloring books for their children/nieces/nephews as I do. Works on iPad and your iPhone. Appreciate any feedback, thanks!

Hi HN! The children in my family love to draw and are beginning to explore digital drawing tools, but they've been somewhat discouraged by the complexity of popular software like GIMP, Photoshop, etc. I was motivated to create a tool that encouraged their artistic creativity and also piqued their technical curiosity. With the release of SDXL-Turbo in late Nov 2023, it became feasible to perform text-guided image to image generation in real-time on a consumer grade GPU. Inspired by this progress and my little cousins' artwork, I put together a web app that integrates an interactive canvas &…
