Hey Folks, I’ve been really annoyed with the search part of finding gifts. It’s hard to use keyword search for something when it’s an “I’ll know it when I see it” kind of deal. So I thought, what if we scraped/indexed TONS of products and then just focused on removing the things we don’t want and then see what’s left to see if there’s anything cool? I built it in Flutter so it's both iOS and Android but it could be web too. I’ve only just started the scraping/tagging of products and if anyone has suggestions for bulk tagging images/content I would love to hear them. That’s the…

A few months ago my Pixel 4A phone was dying so I started thinking about upgrading to a newer model. I didn't want to get hit with buyer's remorse if a price drop happened after buying, due to a new model being announced or released. After digging around, it turns out that understanding the lifecycle of even the most popular phones isn’t that easy. That's why I've made this simple site: keeps tabs on phones lifecycles and gives you a heads-up on upcoming sales seasons to nail your purchase timing. At the moment it only covers the big Android players—Samsung and Google, but I'm keen to expand…

Hi HN! I’m working on Agora, an AI search engine for e-commerce products. Excited to launch the Agora API that helps other developers embed shopping experiences into their app. We provide endpoints to search, purchase, and track products sold on 25,000 different Shopify and WooCommerce stores. Early customers are building social shopping apps, marketplaces, and AI shopping assistants. I’d love your feedback!

Shopping online can be pretty tedious if you care about the quality of what you are buying. The time it takes can scale pretty proportionally to some combination of the value, relative importance, and complexity of the purchase. I think LLMs can help expedite and personalize the online shopping experience to a degree marketplaces just don't currently provide. I don't think anybody really wants to read the product descriptions of a bunch of products, read reviews, do pairwise product comparisons, and find the best deals across different websites? Or am I wrong? That's why I think this…

Wanted to get everyone's feedback on the web app my startup has been working on for the past few months. (didn't want to tweak it anymore before getting feedback from viewers who weren't my friends/family). http://www.foodia.com Would definitely love feedback on the UX (which needs work) and whether this is something you'd use before shopping/deciding what to buy. I'd also love to hear what food problems (if any) you all feel need solving. Thanks.
