Hello HN! I'm a big fan of Wordle and I originally got this idea from seeing people gripe about Wordle suddenly being "harder" than usual. Wondering if this was true, I set out to snoop around the NYT's publicly available data, which gave me some pretty cool insights. I've put some of them on this simple site made with React and Claude. Hello HN! I've been playing a lot with https://hyperscript.org/ recently (not to be confused with the other hyperhype hyperscript). I threw together a quick Wordle clone in an evening to see what it would look like using this language. The main functionality that is missing is checking for invalid words. The word dictionary is also very small, so it's very easy. Countle is a daily puzzle game, a la Wordle, where you use 6 given numbers to produce of a sequence of calculations to reach a target number. Hey HN! FlappyBirdle combines elements from the game Flappy Bird and the popular word game Wordle. I wanted to see if I could make a game that added urgency to Wordle, while also feeling outragous at the same time. I think I achieved it with FlappyBirdle. Every time you type a letter of the word, the bird flaps its wings and you get closer to the goal. It also has an easy mode that ignores the pipes, so even beginners can get a good score. Let me know if you have any ideas on how I can make it better!

Hey HN I built this simple app that grabs four popular tweets from the last 24 hours and removes a word from each, so that the missing words spell out a phrase. It's the player's job to guess the missing words. A key motive for building this was that, to be honest, I was finding much of the news and social media dialogue quite depressing. Wordle reminded me of Mastermind, a game I played as kid, so just for fun I made a version of the game that plays a lot more like Mastermind. I think this version is way more challenging :)

I made this game for my children to play, as they are heavily into Wordle, and I thought they'd also like something maths based! Every puzzle is solvable and has at least one solution (usually more). There is a kids mode in the settings, plus a hard mode for extra difficulty.
