hi friends! i'm pretty tired of engagement bait and all the political nonsense on my x/twitter feed. i was curious if i could use an llm to filter out these type of content, so i prototyped a quick chrome extension. it uses LLama 3.3 to analyze the tweet through https://groq.com/ (because they are super-super fast). the extension is available in the chrome store, also there is a link to the repo. - you can tweak the system prompt for the filtering - but you need your own API key from Groq (you can get one for free)

The idea came from my own frustration with managing multiple conversations – it’s easy for things to get lost, especially when juggling personal, work, and project-related chats. The extension lets you: - Create folders to categorize your DMs (e.g., “Work,” “Friends,” “Projects”). - Keep things tidy and easier to follow up on. It’s free to use, lightweight, and privacy-focused – all the organization happens locally in your browser. I’d love to hear…

Hi HN :) really excited to share this with you. The one thing AI reliably does is generate noise. Half the tools I see launch are just machines for producing more noise across more channels. And people are starting to see this in the form of emails in their inboxes as spam filters are struggling. There used to be a useful signal in email: the effort a sender put into customizing a message was a rough proxy for how relevant it actually was. AI killed that. Now it's customized slop with the appearance of effort with none of the cost. It is painful that the open internet / open channels…

The two most useful email filters that I have on my personal account automatically move the following messages to a "from-robots" folder: * Any message that contains the word "unsubscribe" * Any message from no-reply@ As a side note: please do not send emails from [email protected] If you want users to engage with your communications you need to give them an option to respond.
