Colin here, creator of Nub. I’ve had the general shape of this in mind for years. Nub runs your code with stock `node`, augmented with a `--require` preload hook[0] that adds a transpiler (oxc-powered, packaged as a Node-API add-on), registers a module resolution hook[1], and injects polyfills as needed for APIs like `Worker`, `Temporal`, etc. All purely additive, your code ultimately runs using Node’s actual engine & stdlib implementations. Hi HN, this is Peleg from Configu. We have open-sourced Configu (https://github.com/configu/configu). It’s a simple yet powerful tool designed to manage application configurations (env vars, secrets, feature flags, and more) at scale across environments – from code to runtime – by providing configuration orchestration along with a Configuration-as-Code (CaC) approach. You can easily sync and connect it to any configuration store you use (files in git repo, secret managers, feature flags, databases, etc.) and Configu Orchestrator provides a unified interface that rules…

I built a cli tool that gets you started with TypeScript development with zero config. Initially created to solve my own problem but thought it might be useful for others as well. - SWC compiler - TypeScript type check support - Live reload support - .env file support - Path alias support - Typescript script runner - REPL support Please tell me I am not going down a rabbit hole.

Hello HN, I am Sonal, a data consultant from India. For the past few months(and years!), I have been working on an entity resolution tool to build a single source of truth for customers, suppliers, products and parts. Here is a short demo of Zingg in action https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOabyZxN9b0 As a data consultant, I often struggled to build unified views of core entities on the datalake and the warehouse. Data spread across different systems has variations and consistencies making Customer 360, KYC, AML, segmentation, personalization and other analytics difficult. As I…

Hi HN, I built Titan, a backend framework where you write routes and logic in JavaScript, and the CLI compiles everything into a single Rust + Axum binary using the Boa JS engine. No Node.js is required in production. The idea is to keep JS developer experience while getting Rust performance and a self-contained deployable server. Current features: JS route DSL Action system mapped to Rust esbuild bundling Generated Rust server with Axum Hot-reload dev server Single-binary output Repo: https://github.com/ezet-galaxy/-ezetgalaxy-titan Would love feedback on the…

Hi everyone! So a couple of weeks ago I was building a chrome extension for crawling data and uploading it somewhere online for further exploration. I found myself struggling a lot with this as I found every solution I tried hard to implement (Firebase, Mongo Atlas, EC2). I mean I only needed a simple endpoint in which I was able to set and get JSON data with some key. In the end I made a small CRUD using Mongo, Sinatra, Puma, and Nginx. Then Chrome complained that my endpoint (raw IP) was not HTTPS so I bought a cheap domain and configured an SSL certificate into my server. I found this to…

We're excited to announce the launch of ZenStack V1 after a year of refinement. With ZenStack, we introduce ZModel, a domain-specific language (DSL) that simplifies the definition of data and access rules, bringing it closer to the database level. This eliminates the need for extensive, repetitive coding on the application side. We would love to hear your feedback and opinions on it. Thank you!

I kept seeing every npm/pnpm/yarn/bun/uv supply chain post end with the same advice (set a minimum release age, turn off install scripts), and while I know cooldowns are "controversial", they do work. But even if you convince people that they should set cooldowns, it seems many don't end up following through, not sure why, maybe because it means hand-editing five config files in five formats with five different time units, or perhaps the "it won't happen to me" syndrome (or "I'll do it later, it seems complicated" where it's actually very simple). So I created a tool that…

Hello all To preface this is just something I've been making as a learning exercise, so all feedback is appreciated. This is a tool that converts JSON schemas into TypeScript utility classes for use in Deno. Automatic Type Generation: Typescript interfaces for the compressed and uncompressed versions of your data. Compression & Decompression: Compress and decompress your data. Validation: Built-in data validation using Ajv ensures your data adheres to the schema. Reusability: Once generated, the utility classes can be used in other Deno projects. It currently only supports a subset of JSON…
