In plain words
The 19 Tone Equal Temperament Piano is an online keyboard instrument that divides an octave into 19 notes instead of the standard 12. Players can interact with and play the keyboard through a web browser. It is designed for musicians, music theorists, and anyone curious about alternative tuning systems. The tool demonstrates how microtonal music works by allowing users to explore pitches between the notes found on conventional pianos.

An online interactive and playable 19 tone equal temperament keyboard. On a standard piano keyboard, one octave is divided into 12 notes made up from 7 white keys (A, B, C, D, E, F and G), and in between some of these, 5 black keys, which can be called either sharps or flats: A# (Bb), C# (Db), D# (Eb), F# (Gb), G# (Ab). Whether it's a sharp of a flat doesn't really matter, the note has the same frequency, just a different name. To recap, this gives us a grand total of 12 notes in one octave. If you were to measure the frequency of a note, then measure the frequency of a note exactly one octave higher, you would see that the higher note has exactly twice the frequency of the lower note. Just intonation keyboard – play music without knowing music2023 · ad8e.pages.dev · ▲331This is a keyboard in just intonation. It can play the notes a piano can. The big difference from a piano is that all the notes become consonant. At least, when you want to play a dissonant chord, you are clearly opting in to it because it's clear which notes are dissonant to each other. You won't bump into a dissonant note by mistake. You can play without knowing any music theory. Hit arbitrary notes with the rhythm you want, and the pitches will work. Not understanding the buttons is fine. Even rolling your elbow around your keyboard is fine. If you are a musician and press the wrong key…
