A Bitcoin Christmas

Link: www.SpreadtheCoin.com A few weeks ago I wanted to give my parents and brother, (who had all heard about bitcoin on the news) their first ever Bitcoin as a gift for Christmas and educate them along the way. Amid the recent China crash there has been a lot of negativity in the Bitcoin community and the news... My buds and soon-to-be-teammates thought that what I was wanting to do for my family was just what the Bitcoin community needed. So we put together a certificate, graphic designs, and cards to make the "Spread the Coin Bitcoin Christmas package". The idea being that if we all…

In the maker’s words, at launch

Link: www.SpreadtheCoin.com A few weeks ago I wanted to give my parents and brother, (who had all heard about bitcoin on the news) their first ever Bitcoin as a gift for Christmas and educate them along the way. Amid the recent China crash there has been a lot of negativity in the Bitcoin community and the news... My buds and soon-to-be-teammates thought that what I was wanting to do for my family was just what the Bitcoin community needed. So we put together a certificate, graphic designs, and cards to make the "Spread the Coin Bitcoin Christmas package". The idea being that if we all spread a little Bitcoin cheer this holiday season and share any amount you wish with our friends and family that together we can grow and enrich the Bitcoin community. You can find us at www.SpreadtheCoin.com Feel free to give us any feedback on the idea, designs, or the website. We are wanting to make this Bitcoin marketing project crowd-sourced very soon!

Show HN: I crafted the simplest way to Gift Bitcoin this Christmas The link is: www.spreadthecoin.com For the past two weeks, I have been building a Bitcoin Christmas(/Happy Holidays) Card company --> and it has just launched (today) at www.spreadthecoin.com . The "Certificate" makes it easy for Bitcoiners to give their friends and family their first Bitcoin (with suggestions on how to spend/use it)! It is meant to play-well with home-printers and can suffice as a last-minute gift idea. I think that Christmas morning/Hanukkah is an excellent opportunity to gift coins to…

A friend(@wolever) and I spent the weekend hacking up a small web app which makes it easy for you to sell digital goods for Bitcoins. Once a customer has clicked the “buy” button, we take care of giving them a unique address, monitoring that address for transactions, then securely notifying your website once a minimum number of confirmations have been received. Oh, ya, and then we send you the Bitcoins :) The website is here: BitWillet: http://www.bitwillet.com and there is a demo on the front page. (full disclosure: BitWillet uses the Willet, http://dev.getwillet.com, platform, of which I…

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
