A browser tool to help learn/transcribe music from MP3's or YouTube

Free online tool to slow down a song without changing its pitch, loop the hard parts, and transcribe music by ear. Works with MP3, WAV, and YouTube.

A browser tool to help learn/transcribe music from MP3's or YouTube launched on August 15, 2014 with 8 votes and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 12 years on.

What it does

Loop any passage of any song, slow it down without changing the pitch, and transcribe what the greats actually played. Free to use. MP3, WAV, or M4A, or drop a file anywhere on this page. Tune Transcriber is a free online tool for musicians who learn by listening. Slow a track down far enough to hear every note, loop the bar that keeps beating you, and work it out one phrase at a time. It runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install and your music never leaves your machine. Time stretching keeps every note where it belongs while the tempo drops. Hear the run at half speed, learn it, then creep back up to full tempo. Drag across the waveform to set A and B and the passage repeats…from tunetranscriber.com
