A Facebook profile picture guessing game I made
Over the past few days, I've been working on this fun idea I had when I first saw the blur.js post, here on HN. My first though was to make a game using it. So, I wrote Friendblur. Check it out: http://friendblur.com/ This was my first Backbone.js app, as well. It seems to work pretty good on IE, FF, Chrome and Safari. I used Bootstrap to quickly get it out there. There's no server side database or anything, yet. I don't keep track of scores or anything. The only thing the server does is pipe facebook image data back to the user, because that was the first idea I had as to how to get around…
What it does
In the maker’s words, at launch

The only thing the server does is pipe facebook image data back to the user, because that was the first idea I had as to how to get around a cross-domain issue with blur.js. So, if anyone knows how to get image data somehow from the browser cache or something, that'd save me some bandwidth. :)
Does the same job

hi all, I've always wanted to make my own game, but couldn't afford a thousand-dollar adobe (flash+photoshop) license. I'm not a talented programmer, have no degree in CS. But I understand some elements of design. So I got me a copy of ImpactJS, and after about 5 months of steep learning curve (at least for me), I managed to come up with a game. I also integrated it with a highscore and badge system, similar to what you get at Kongregate. You need to login with Google/OpenID to earn badges/scores. link is: http://www.hotbazooka.com/privatejoe hope to hear some feedback/questions from you guys!

Hey fellow HN-ers, I'd like to ask HN about my latest startup: SocialFolders. We take a Dropbox-like approach to managing your content on your social networks by mirroring all the content you have on these networks in folders on your computer. Moving this content around, between folders or between services, is mirrored in the all-mighty "cloud" (ugh, I hate this word). We'd love to know what you think. We think our approach solves the problem of managing content at scale. We put together a quick 2'30 screencast to show HN how it works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s2TFsVezZQ If you want…

Hello HN. This is a project me and some friends built at university in 2017. It was originally built in a rush, but we've added a few improvements over the years. It's a fun game to host at a demoparty and project on a big screen - We did that at Instanssi many times. The implementation is still rough, and suffers from the fast pace of the modern web - The frontend is likely very outdated, and the backend is built with Vapor 2 and Swift 3.1, both no longer supported. You can host this yourself, but it might be a bit of a pain to set up. The WebSocket protocol is fairly trivial to work out…

I've been working on an app in my spare time for about the past 6 months in between my day job and taking care of my 10 month old daughter. I'm launching a beta today and would love to get the communities feedback. It's called Pagify and it's an app that allows you to build custom Facebook tabs using their new iframe method. I'm quite proud of the fact that I actually got this out the door. This past year my life has been quite hectic. Let me know your thoughts and give me a "Like" if so inclined :). Thanks View the app at http://pagifyapp.com Skip the Marketing stuff and go straight to the…
