Hi everyone, I read HN every day, but there was always more great content than I had time to read. I know there are already several HN summarizers on GitHub, and I tried some of them. They just didn't fit the workflow I wanted, so I decided to build my own. I love HN but always felt the search with algolia is okay but does have some limitations. Since I work at Vectara I decided to try and create a better search for HN. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it.
