A site to help you validate ideas in bulk
Hi HN! I made a really quick web app to help people validate their ideas. The app is a simple landing page builder, but every page includes a really simple Yes/No "Are You Interested?" poll. Every vote is recorded and tracked, and if they click yes they are brought to a page where they can submit an email. This makes validating ideas super easy because you can post your link to different communities and get statistically significant results as well as build an email list. Given an hour, you could easily create 50 different landing pages and be able to validate your ideas in bulk. The…

http://www.upboat.us Demo: http://www.upboat.us/idea/upboat Screenshot of logged-in view: http://i.imgur.com/vUZXfZc.png Upboat is an idea validation platform, somewhere inbetween Kickstarter and LaunchRock. If the idea you pitch receives over 200* "upboat"s (consented would-be users) within one week, you get the whole emailing list of all those who upboat'd it. If not, you get nothing. This is helpful for those who have ideas for side-projects, but lack the strong-enough incentive to get to work and just hack something together. Should you put up…

I started a newsletter sending out daily startup ideas. After a year, I transitioned to weekly ideas with more in-depth details. I recently posted all of them to the website and made them searchable. Check it out and let me know what you think. By providing more than just an idea, my hope is to help someone start their next business. https://www.startupsfromthebottom.com/

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
