A way for entrepreneurs to connect with business problems to work on

http://repp.herokuapp.com Originally, my partner and I built this app internally (just in the past few days) to find trends and commonalities in our customer development process in the commercial real estate industry. However, as we kept getting responses about pain points in these professionals' lives, we decided that this information would be really useful to any entrepreneur looking for problems to solve. Right now the web app is super basic with no login or authentication. It's like a basic notepad. Ultimately the question is, do you find this sort of information useful? If not, what…

    I made a tool that adds two-step verification to websites or apps2014 · ▲10

Hello! I just made my first web app with Sinatra. It is a REST API that helps people add two-step verification to their websites or apps. I am a complete noob in web development so please criticize me and let me know how shitty this whole thing is. :) http://two-step.herokuapp.com/

our Startup Weekend project - autoscale your Heroku dynos & workers2011 · ▲16

Startup Weekend just started in our city and we thought we'll build a Heroku autoscaler that really works, and saves you not only from slowly building traffic but from the slashdot effect as well.
Those who tried out ddollar's gem (and all forks of it) or even Heroscale know that the problem's not so trivial to solve.
We hope people will get it, and pay a small monthly fee to save many days of inrastructure coding so they can focus on business logic instead.
URL is: http://scalefu.com/

Is this useful to those of you hiring programmers?2012 · ▲15

I created http://devtest.net as a weekend project, and I'm pretty proud of it from a technical and UI standpoint. The problem is, I've built this by myself in a bit of a vacuum, to "scratch my own itch", and I don't know if this is useful to anyone other than me. I'm also not so hot on the business side and don't really know what I'm doing. Basically, I'm looking for some advice, now that I've actually launched, what now? One thing that this has shown me is that I'm capable of putting together a pretty decent web application on my own in my spare time. Should I stick with this idea, or…

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
