A24z – AI Engineering Ops Platform
Hey HN! I am the founder at a24z. I have been doing software development for over a decade in healthcare, education, and non-profits. I recently started a24z after talking to over 200 engineering leaders about their largest pain points. It originally started off as an Observability tool so that engineering leaders can see adoption, ROI, etc. for their engineering organizations, but as teams started to evolve with the way they utilize AI Coding tools, so did the platform I was building. In plain words
A24z is an AI engineering operations platform that helps engineering leaders monitor and optimize their use of AI coding tools. Built by a founder with over a decade of experience in healthcare, education, and nonprofits, it offers observability features to track adoption and ROI, alongside security scanning and autonomous code upgrades for Claude. The platform also provides guardrails and optimization features designed to function as an in-house platform engineer for development teams.

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

Community, All the HN belong to you. This is an archive of hacker news that fits in your browser. When I made HN Made of Primes I realized I could probably do this offline sqlite/wasm thing with the whole GBs of archive. The whole dataset. So I tried it, and this is it. Have Hacker News on your device. Go to this repo (https://github.com/DOSAYGO-STUDIO/HackerBook): you can download it. Big Query -> ETL -> npx serve docs - that's it. 20 years of HN arguments and beauty, can be yours forever. So they'll never die. Ever. It's the unkillable static archive of HN and it's…
