Accurator — Nostalgic Gallery Cleaner

I made Accurator to help tame messy camera rolls by turning cleanup into a quick, nostalgic routine. Just to say upfront: I know there are similar apps. I discovered that after building mine, which is, of course, kinda funny. I honestly didn’t check competitors — I just built what I wanted for myself. So no, I’m not “the first.” I plan to make Accurator the one that feels fast, minimal, and nice to use every day. Would love your feedback What it does: • Surfaces random photos from any year so you can make fast keep/delete decisions • One tap to keep, or add to a delete list, then…

Accurator — Nostalgic Gallery Cleaner launched on September 8, 2025 with 6 votes, #3,421 of 8,160 launches that month. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

What it does

Declutter your gallery with nostalgia. Accurator shows your random photos, lets you keep the good ones, queue the rest, and batch-delete to free space. It’s fast and private—on-device processing, no signup, no cloud. Clean up without losing your memories.

Clean duplicate, blurry and unwanted photos, restore soft images and revisit memories with Accurator for iPhone and Android. Photos stay on your device.

Find duplicate, blurry and unwanted photos, improve soft images and rediscover forgotten memories. Accurator keeps photo processing on your device and lets you review every deletion. Choose the workflow that fits the moment: scan clutter automatically, improve a blurry image or review your library one memory at a time. Surface likely duplicates, blurry shots, screenshots and large media, then check the selection before anything is removed. Improve the clarity of a soft or motion-blurred photo with on-device machine learning and compare the result before saving. Turn gallery cleanup into a calm review of forgotten moments. Keep a photo, share it or place it on a separate deletion list. Your…from accurator.app

  • The site hit #1 on HN about a year ago. Got enough traffic that I turned it into a proper API. What's there: - REST API — 35k products, manually filterable by category, free key, 60 req/min - CLI — npx anycrap random -c food - faker.js plugin — bundled, no API call, works offline - HuggingFace dataset — full 35k rows for ML/training https://anycrap.shop/developers

  • I made a built-from scratch Wayland Compositor to display any GUI app* in the terminal! I think there is a lot of unexplored potential in custom Wayland compositors, a lot of really cool things you can embed existing applications into! So, I started with embedding apps into the terminal because that is the easiest input/output (output is just utf-8 and I use the great `chafa` library for that, and I just read from stdin for the input). If you have any other ideas for cool Wayland compositors, let me know. I purposedly wrote 80% the app in Typescript to appeal to the most developers and…

Years ago I stumbled across a basic version of this concept and it stuck with me. I knew if I was ever going to take on such a project, it would need to be flawless, but without coding experience it was just another idea that would never happen. By the end of 2024, as AI coding tools exploded everywhere, I finally had a way to make it real. I started from zero knowledge and spent months collaborating with AI agents as a learning experience. Every pixel and every function went through me. The AI translated what I asked for into code, but every decision was human. I didn't use existing OS…
