AgnosticUI a React, Vue 3, Svelte, and Angular UI Library

I’ve spent the last few years building AgnosticUI. It started as a CSS-first monorepo with logic manually duplicated across framework packages. It turned into a maintenance nightmare. I recently completed a total rewrite in Lit to align with web standards and unify the core. One major architectural shift was moving to a "Source-First" model. Instead of a black box in node_modules, the UI source lives in your local project workspace. This makes the components fully visible to LLMs, preventing the hallucinations common when AI tries to guess at hidden library APIs. I wrote a technical…

In plain words

AgnosticUI is a UI library that works across multiple JavaScript frameworks including React, Vue 3, Svelte, and Angular. It provides pre-built components that developers can use to build user interfaces without being locked into a single framework. The library is designed for teams and developers who work with different frameworks or want flexibility in their technology choices.

From the sources

AgnosticUI is a set of standards-compliant UI primitives that start their lives in clean HTML and CSS, then get propagated to React, Vue, Angular, and Svelte implementations.

One theme…all frameworks! Lit. Vanilla. React. Vue. Svelte.

Local source lives in your codebase. Our AG Context Generator arms your favorite LLM with exact component locations, types, and usage. Claude. Codex. Copilot. Gemini. And more. Three commands and your agent of choice knows your entire stack. The entire UI library lives in your project (React, Vue, Lit, Svelte, Solid, and more). No MCP setup, node_modules, or npm. Every component is AI-readable. Run ag context once and any AI coding assistant (Claude, Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Gemini) gets your exact prop types, import paths, and playbook blueprints. No hallucinated APIs. No opaque npm packages. No wasted tokens on documentation. No context limits. Just accurate, instant help everyfrom agnosticui.com

I made this because building UIs in a lexical medium like code is super annoying. I have to pre-render what I’m making in my head, and then jump between the browser and IDE to test. I was inspired by the developer console in chrome and safari since I end up editing css there because it’s ironically more convenient. Hope it’s useful!

Thesys just open-sourced their generative UI rendering engine. Interesting timing given where Google a2ui and Vercel's json-render are headed. The difference worth noting: a2ui and json-render both treat JSONL as the contract between the LLM and the renderer. Thesys is betting that's the wrong primitive. Their engine uses a code-like syntax (OpenUI Lang) instead — LLM writes it, renderer executes it. The argument is that LLMs are fundamentally better at generating code than generating structured data, so you get cleaner output and ~67% fewer tokens. The broader vision seems to be a…

When I started my career and built my first design system, I was beyond excited. It took a lot of iterations, learning and 6 months of work to launch it internally. In the next job, I did it again, then at the following job, again… And no matter which company I worked for, 80% of the design system was the same. I’ve decided to work full-time on the design system I’ve always wanted, and today I’m launching and open-sourcing it. You can use it to build Next.js apps faster, and I’ve designed it in a way that it’s hard to go wrong with it: you can choose any settings, and you’ll end up with a…

Hi HN! I made many small web games in the past with Unity or Phaser. But this time I wanted to make something completely on my own. So I coded a basic game framework in plain JavaScript, and used it to make Almost Pong. This was a really fun project that taught me a lot about JavaScript, and I plan to make more minimalist games with this framework. Interesting fact: Almost Pong doesn't load any assets, all sprites and sounds are generated with code. Happy to answer questions, and please let me know if you have any feedback on the game. Thanks!
