AI Agent in Jupyter – Runcell
I build runcell, an AI Agent in Jupyter Lab. It can understand context (data, charts, code, etc) in your jupyterlab and write code for you. Runcell has built-in tools that can edit or execute cells, read/write files, search web, etc. Comparing with AI IDE like cursor, runcell focus on building context for code agent in jupyter environment, which means the agent can understand different types of information in jupyter notebook, access kernel state, edit/execute specific cells instead of handling jupyter as static ipynb file. Comparing with jupyter ai, runcell is more like an agent…

What it does
Runcell is an AI agent for Jupyter notebooks that automates writing Python code, executing cells, debugging, and explaining data analysis results in real time.
Ask a question. Runcell writes and runs the code, reads the notebook outputs, and carries the work forward. Runcell connects the steps that normally fall between prompts: it inspects the notebook, writes and runs the code, reads the outputs, and turns the result into the next useful experiment. Describe the result you need. Runcell plans the notebook steps, writes the Python, executes the cells, and fixes errors as the work develops. Ask about a transformation, result, or error in context. Runcell reads the surrounding cells and outputs, applies the fix, and keeps the analysis moving. Try analytical approaches side by side with real notebook outputs, then use the evidence to decide which…from runcell.dev

Adding Mistral Codestral and GPT-4o to Jupyter Notebooks2024 · github.com · ▲269Hey HN! We’ve forked Jupyter Lab and added AI code generation features that feel native and have all the context about your notebook. You can see a demo video (2 min) here: https://www.tella.tv/video/clxt7ei4v00rr09i5gt1laop6/view Try a hosted version here: https://pretzelai.app Jupyter is by far the most used Data Science tool. Despite its popularity, it still lacks good code-generation extensions. The flagship AI extension jupyter-ai lags far behind in features and UX compared to modern AI code generation and understanding tools (like…
Thread – AI-powered Jupyter Notebook built using React2024 · github.com · ▲162Hey HN, we're building Thread (https://thread.dev/) an open-source Jupyter Notebook that has a bunch of AI features built in. The easiest way to think of Thread is if the chat interface of OpenAI code interpreter was fused into a Jupyter Notebook development environment where you could still edit code or re-run cells. To check it out, you can see a video demo here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq1_eoO6w-c We initially got the idea when building Vizly (https://vizly.fyi/) a tool that lets non-technical users ask questions from their data. While…
PaneJan 2026 · paneapp.com · ▲188Hi HN, I built Pane, a spreadsheet-native agent that operates directly on the grid (cells, formulas, references, ranges) instead of treating spreadsheets as text. Most spreadsheet AI tools fail because they: - hallucinate formulas - lose context across edits - can't reliably modify existing models Pane runs inside the spreadsheet environment and uses the same primitives a human would: selecting cells, editing formulas, inserting ranges, reconciling tables. I launched it on Product Hunt this weekend and it unexpectedly resonated, which made me curious whether this approach actually holds up…

I built the world's most impractical 1000-pixel display and anyone in the world can draw on it. It draws a single pixel at a time and takes 30-60 minutes to complete a single image. Anyone can participate in the project by voting for the next image to be drawn, and submitting images. https://kilopx.com/

Kitten TTS is an open-source series of tiny and expressive text-to-speech models for on-device applications. We are excited to launch a preview of our smallest model, which is less than 25 MB. This model has 15M parameters. This release supports English text-to-speech applications in eight voices: four male and four female. The model is quantized to int8 + fp16, and it uses onnx for runtime. The model is designed to run literally anywhere eg. raspberry pi, low-end smartphones, wearables, browsers etc. No GPU required! We're releasing this to give early users a sense of the latency and voices…

I was wondering how I can arrange objects along a spherical helix path, and read some articles on it. I ended up learning about parametric equations again, and make this visualization to document what I learned: https://visualrambling.space/moving-objects-in-3d/ feel free to visit and let me know what you think!

For HTML Day 2025 [1], I made a web service that displays the current sky at your approximate location as a CSS gradient. Colours are simulated on-demand using atmospheric absorption and scattering coefficients. Updates every minute, without the use of client-side JavaScript.
