AI Bingo – weekly challenges to practice AI
Hi HN! We were trying to have our team adopt AI more and had the idea for "AI Bingo" - hands-on, mini challenges that resulted in something delightful and real. Our team members were obsessed, they were saying it was "weirdly addictive." People made AI-generated ASMR videos, n8n automations, games. Our email marketer built an Electron app using Claude Code. We were stunned - people were learning by doing AND having fun. So, we've spent the last few weeks building Made That, where anyone can do the same challenges and see other people's submissions. A lot of people feel a lot of existential…
What it does
In the maker’s words, at launch
A lot of people feel a lot of existential angst about AI as we're all seeing layoffs left and right, but they don't know where to start. Wanted to add a bit of fun (and competitiveness) to something that feels stressful. There's still a lot we can do to make it better, but wanted to open up discussion here and get feedback about the format, challenges, if it feels fun.

I've been experimenting with ways to increase AI adoption for non-technical people. Basically, all companies are pushing for AI because it's all over the news and they feel left behind but most people have no clue where to start. I think 90% of people (ie non coders) are sufficiently well served by using cowork instead of claude code or something similar. If we can get people from sales, customer support, marketing, etc to collaborate with skills and cowork to form a company brain, I think it's gold. So I think there's opportunity for the community to share skills that work well for 1000s of…

Hi HN! Me and my buddy made this in a weekend as an experiment in 1. building something quickly and putting it out there and 2. using AI in an interesting way; in this case a poetry judge. Our “judge” isn’t perfect, but the hope is that at least it’s a relatively fair system that everyone can be sure evaluates their work. Anyway, we wanted to see what the lovely people of HN think of it. Some background on the idea; I like poetry and thought it would be cool if there was a big competition with a large financial incentive that scales with the number of participants. Using AI as a judge allows…

- WBWe built an AI Website builder with better output2024 · dorik.com · ▲8
Hey HN, After GPT-3 created waves in the tech industry, a lot of AI tools were emerging and with that, some AI website builders But the results seemed way too generic to us. It felt like the developers were rushing to catch the wave instead of building a proper tool We took our time, did months of RnD and finally came up with something better than what others in the market are doing. It’s got better design output. While it’s still in beta, I wanted to show HN what we did. Will appreciate the feedback when you guys try it out. Here is the link to signup for the beta:…
- DVDaily vibe-coding video games, day 33: Tower Defense (single prompt)May 2026 · gamevibe.us · ▲8
I'm using AI (mostly Claude) to create/publish a new video game every day This is day 33, first stab at the tower defense genre. Most of the games (including this one) I build with a single prompt. Rarely, a couple extra prompts are needed for bug fixes or to tweak the physics/UI. Extremely rarely, the AI has difficulty making the game work right (usually drawing it) and it takes a dozen or more prompts -- but the majority of the time, it gets everything right and makes a fully playable game first try Happy to answer any questions, just a little hobby project of mine I'm having…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
