APIbenchmarks
An independent, open benchmark of developer APIs
APIbenchmarks launched on June 28, 2026 with 1 votes.
What it does
APIbenchmarks is a free, open benchmark of developer APIs. We evaluate every provider against the same four criteria (documentation, reliability, ecosystem, and accessibility) and score each from 0 to 100. The method is reproducible, every figure is verified and dated, and there is no paid placement. The full dataset is machine-readable for AI agents and developers.
APIbenchmarks is an independent, open benchmark of developer APIs. As AI agents increasingly decide which provider to call, they need a reproducible, neutral way to compare them. The APIbenchmarks Index scores 138 developer APIs across 19 categories against the same published criteria, from 0 to 100. Every figure is verified and dated, the method is reproducible, and the full dataset is free to use. ABI = APIbenchmarks Index (0–100). Each category page ranks every provider with a full per-dimension breakdown. Every provider is scored on the same four criteria, weighted the same way, then combined into a single 0 to 100 index. How clear the docs are, how complete the examples and SDK…from apibenchmarks.com

APIRank.dev – We crawled and ranked public APIs from the internet2023 · apirank.dev · ▲176tl;dr we at Escape (YC W23), we scanned 5651+ public APIs on the internet with our in house feedback driven API exploration tech, and ranked them using security, performance, reliability, and design criteria. The results are public on https://apirank.dev. You can request that we index your own API to the list for free and see how it compares to others. Why we did that? During a YC meetup I spoke with a fellow founder that told me how hard it was to pick the right external APIs to use within your own projects. I realized that most of what we build relies on public APIs from external…

- ATA tool to benchmark LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, local/self-hosted)2025 · llmapitest.com · ▲55
I recently built a small open-source tool to benchmark different LLM API endpoints — including OpenAI, Claude, and self-hosted models (like llama.cpp). It runs a configurable number of test requests and reports two key metrics: • First-token latency (ms): How long it takes for the first token to appear • Output speed (tokens/sec): Overall output fluency Demo: https://llmapitest.com/ Code: https://github.com/qjr87/llm-api-test The goal is to provide a simple, visual, and reproducible way to evaluate performance across different LLM providers, including…
OpenBenchmarks – Helping agents discover and pick the right SaaS APIsJul 2026 · openbenchmarks.com · ▲6I'm Fenil, co-founder/CEO of OpenFunnel (YC F24), building this with my co-founder/CTO Aditya. We're launching OpenBenchmarks (https://openbenchmarks.com), open-source, reproducible benchmarks for SaaS APIs, starting with the category we know best: GTM APIs. ## Why we built this More and more B2B software evaluation will/already runs through reasoning models inside agentic workflows rather than through people. And buyers increasingly pick vendors that are API-first and ship MCPs, so they can wire them into internal workflows. Strong reasoning models are skeptical of…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
