Appear as anyone in video calls like zoom or Google meets
Hey everyone! i built this free tool that basically let you appear as literally anyone in video calls. it uses the latest tech in audio driven portrait animation. Would love to have some people test this out and let me know what you think! It's currently available on ubuntu systems. it works best with 4070 or 3080 gpus and up! basically anything with about 30TFLOPS on fp16. It runs totally on your device for 100% privacy too. Just looking for people to test this out and let me know what they think! You can download it at https://www.phazr.ai/
In plain words
This free tool lets users appear as different people in video calls on Zoom, Google Meet, and similar platforms using audio-driven portrait animation technology. It runs on Ubuntu systems with compatible GPUs and processes everything locally on the user's device for privacy. The software is designed for users with high-end graphics hardware who want to test real-time face replacement during video calls.

Before the pandemic, my tiny startup was doing quite well selling Edge AI systems, based on our own lightweight AI inference engine, with object detection and face recognition for smart city and smart retail & food service applications. When the real world shut down, there was suddenly nothing to monitor on streets and in restaurants, so I set out to try and evolve our real time face recognition system into a video codec for high quality face-to-face online interactions, as I was not satisfied with the quality of Zoom and friends. I got it to work, and the first release for IOS was just…

- LSLemon Slice Live – Have a video call with a transformer model2025 · ▲195
Hey HN, this is Lina, Andrew, and Sidney from Lemon Slice. We’ve trained a custom diffusion transformer (DiT) model that achieves video streaming at 25fps and wrapped it into a demo that allows anyone to turn a photo into a real-time, talking avatar. Here’s an example conversation from co-founder Andrew: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeYp5xQMFZY. Try it for yourself at: https://lemonslice.com/live. (Btw, we used to be called Infinity AI and did a Show HN under that name last year: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41467704.) Unlike existing…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
