In plain words
AcadLISP is an AutoLISP interpreter built in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly, bringing 33-year-old CAD automation workflows to the web. It allows engineers and architects to run legacy AutoLISP scripts directly in browsers without installing desktop CAD software. The tool targets professionals who need to automate repetitive design tasks and maintain compatibility with existing script libraries while working in modern web environments.

acadlisp is an AutoLISP interpreter written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly. It runs AutoLISP code directly in the browser - no AutoCAD installation required. In 1991, a small electrical company in Bavaria, Germany faced a challenge: every machine installation required custom electrical schematics - a time-consuming manual process. The solution: AutoLISP , the programming language built into AutoCAD. I invented a workflow using CSV files, templates, and LISP code to automate schematic generation. Define components in spreadsheets, feed them through templates, generate complete technical drawings automatically. I've never met anyone else who used this approach. Now I've built an…from acadlisp.de

A lightweight engine for durable execution / deterministic workflows I built with Rust, wasmtime and the WASM Component Model. Its main use is running reliable, long-running workflows that can automatically resume after failures. Looking for feedback on the approach and potential use cases!

Sandboxing untrusted code using WebAssemblyFeb 2026 · github.com · ▲76Hi everyone, I built a runtime to isolate untrusted code using wasm sandboxes. Basically, it protects your host system from problems that untrusted code can cause. We’ve had a great discussion about sandboxing in Python lately that elaborates a bit more on the problem [1]. In TypeScript, wasm integration is even more natural thanks to the close proximity between both ecosystems. The core is built in Rust. On top of that, I use WASI 0.2 via wasmtime and the component model, along with custom SDKs that keep things as idiomatic as possible. For example, in Python we have a simple decorator:…

A minimal working Rust / SDL2 / WASM browser game2024 · github.com · ▲82"Game" is a stretch, but I put together this repo containing a pure Rust app which uses SDL2 and compiles to WASM (and can be run in a browser). Older resources were a bit out of date and a bit too verbose for my purposes, so here's a minimal working example.

I think that asdf (https://asdf-vm.com) was a great idea for a project. It helps consolidate installing and running different programming languages into a similar UX. It also is built with a plugin interface that makes it easy to build support for new languages. However it is so slow. I was just testing `node -v` and it was taking ~900ms. That kind of overhead is completely unusable. My shell prompt uses runtimes inside of it for various things so this effectively makes every command take multiple seconds to complete. So I rebuilt it in Rust but using the same plugin ecosystem so…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Community, All the HN belong to you. This is an archive of hacker news that fits in your browser. When I made HN Made of Primes I realized I could probably do this offline sqlite/wasm thing with the whole GBs of archive. The whole dataset. So I tried it, and this is it. Have Hacker News on your device. Go to this repo (https://github.com/DOSAYGO-STUDIO/HackerBook): you can download it. Big Query -> ETL -> npx serve docs - that's it. 20 years of HN arguments and beauty, can be yours forever. So they'll never die. Ever. It's the unkillable static archive of HN and it's…
