Beyond Alarm is built for people who keep snoozing, scrolling late at night, and doomscrolling the moment they wake up. Complete missions like push-ups, squats, photos, or walking to prove you're awake. Night Lockout helps stop late-night scrolling, while Morning Lockout blocks distracting apps after you wake up. No account, no tracking, works offline.

The alarm that won't stop until you've moved — then locks the apps that pull you back to bed. Maths, a household hunt, a barcode, a walk, a photo of the room you should be standing in. Eleven missions — eight of them free. The front camera counts push-ups, squats and jumping jacks live, on the device. You can’t fake it from under the duvet. Choose which apps stay shut after you wake, and for how long. The rest of your phone works normally. Nine to five on weekdays. Every evening after eight. Whatever the hours are, set them once and they arrive on their own — there is no app to remember to open, and no decision to make when you are least able to make it. Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
