Clipto MCP

Let agents source clips from terabytes of your local video

In plain words

Clipto MCP is a tool that integrates with AI agents like Claude and ChatGPT to search and extract clips from videos, photos, and audio files stored locally on a computer. Users can describe what they need—such as matching footage to a script, finding specific scenes, or creating rough cuts—and the tool retrieves relevant moments from their media library. It's designed for content creators, editors, and anyone working with large volumes of local video or audio who want to automate the process of finding and assembling footage.

From the sources

Clipto MCP gives Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI agents the ability to source clips and more from inside the videos, photos, and audio recordings stored on your computer. Instead of manually browsing files, simply describe what you need. For example, turn a script into a video by matching each sentence with your local footage; find every scene where someone mentioned a topic; create rough cuts; or search years of media as if you have a dedicated assistant editor.

Let AI understand your local files with Clipto MCP—then find moments, auto-edit videos and podcasts, assemble A-roll, and auto-match B-roll to create faster.

Your AI tool asks Clipto for context. Clipto searches your approved local media and returns source-backed results Create a complete video using this A-roll or voiceover in my Clipto library: {name the recording} . Match B-roll to this script: {paste your script} , following {describe the look you want} . Use the strongest clip for each beat, keep it in sync, and stay on the main track when no good match exists. Export the finished video with source timestamps and Clipto links. Edit this full podcast recording in my Clipto library: {name the recording} . Shape it around {main topic or goal} and deliver it as {audio or video} . Remove filler, false starts, repetition, long pauses,…from clipto.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
