Clipto MCPAug 2026 · clipto.com · ▲655Hey HN, We recently built Clipto. It’s a tool that lets you search over terabytes of video, audio, and images on your computer, without relying on the cloud. Motivation: we probably all had this similar experience, we know a moment exists in a video or audio, but finding it takes hours scrubbing the timeline. You can send all the media to process in the cloud, but it’s slow, expensive and raises privacy concerns. So we decided to build our own on-device media search engine. How it works (high level): 1. We ingest video, audio, image; normalize formats via ffmpeg; run content analysis to…
FastCut2023 · fastcutai.co · ▲363Hi HN, We're two final-year college students from India, and we just launched FastCut – an AI tool to help creators, coaches, and marketers quickly edit there short form content (Reels, Shorts, TikToks) to make it more engaging. The goal is simple: Let users upload a raw video and get back a polished, engaging short in minutes — without touching a timeline. FastCut does the following: Automatically trims silences and filler content - Adds clean, animated captions using speech-to-text - Enhances audio - Pulls in relevant images (via Google Search), stock clips, stickers, and GIFs - Adds…

AI Playground2025 · veed.io · ▲159Finding notes fast is still hard. You can organize with tags, PARA, or backlinks, but searching always feels slow and frustrating. That’s why I built ConniePad - native app on macOS & iOS. It works offline and lets you capture notes quickly anywhere. It has a comprehensive editor and local speech-to-text on iOS, so you can jot down ideas even without internet. But capturing notes is only half the story. What about finding what you need? ConniePad uses AI search. You can type queries like you would in Google or ChatGPT. It understands similar words, wrong typos, and abbreviations, so you get…

Hello HN Over the New Year's break, I created semanticvideosearch.com. This can search any video based on meaning and context. I would love to get your feedback on it. What should I change and what can be improved? The preprocessed videos can be search very quickly, while the youtube video links take some time (yt videos also have a upper duration limit due to compute issues). I intend to add search based on the frames of the video soon. I would love to know your thoughts on the demo and any suggestions for improvements. Thanks! PS: the inspiration to create this was to get the 2 mins of…

- TITetris in a PDF▲1,289
I realized that the PDF engines of modern desktop browsers (PDFium and PDF.js) support JavaScript with enough I/O primitives to make a basic game like Tetris. It was a bit tricky to find a union of features that work in both engines, but in the end it turns out that showing/hiding annotation "fields" works well to make monochrome pixels, and keyboard input can be achieved by typing in a text input box. All in all it's quite janky but a nice reminder of how general purpose PDF scripting can be. The linked PDF is all ASCII so you can just open it in a text editor, or have a look at…

21st.dev▲1,211I originally built this app to organize and reuse interesting React + Tailwind components I came across on Twitter, inspired by the shadcn/ui approach. Later, a friend started contributing their own components, and it got me thinking—this could grow into something bigger, like an NPM for design engineers to share and use components. Would love to hear your thoughts!
