What it does
Read the Bible in six public-domain translations, with the Hebrew and Greek alongside, Strong's lexicon, cross-references, hand-drawn maps and private notes. It also carries its own commentary on all sixty-six books — 3,031 comments, published nowhere else — and 327 hours of narration across four translations. No ad network, no third-party script, no tracking cookie, no account needed. The iPhone, Mac and Windows apps are bought once and work offline.

I rebuilt Biblos, my semantic Bible search app, to run entirely in your browser. No more server costs. The main challenge was fitting an accurate text embedding model into browsers. Last year's version cost $20 monthly to host. The new version runs free on Vercel and searches 31k Bible verses without sending data to any server. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it.
