Bizvetting - pre underwritten small biz

pre underwritten small biz deals in high traction niches

What it does

100s of HVAC+ business for sale, underwritten through SBA 7(a) math and graded relative to the market— before you call the broker.

Every HVAC business for sale, underwritten through SBA 7(a) math and graded relative to the current batch — before you call the broker.

We evaluate HVAC businesses publicly listed for sale and run each one through standard SBA 7(a) underwriting math — same down payment, same rate, same stress test a lender applies. Then the whole batch gets graded against itself. Every listing leaves with a grade: A, B, or C. Every HVAC business publicly listed for sale is evaluated and filtered to the SBA sweet spot — $500K–$3M asking price, field-service businesses only. Each deal runs through the same SBA 7(a) math a lender will — 12.5% down, current market rate, 10-year term, and a 20% stressed SDE haircut before DSCR is recalculated. Deals are graded A, B, or C relative to the batch, not an arbitrary cutoff — so the strongest…from bizvetting.com

    MiniPCs.zip – Charting the Pareto frontier of Mini PCsJun 2026 · minipcs.zip · ▲115

The overall idea is to chart out the thousands of Mini PCs by benchmark and reveal the Pareto Front so you can get the most Compute per Dollar. Definitely a labor of love as I have a number of Mini PCs for my "homelab" (TrueNAS, piHole, Plex, basic stuff). It uses Gemini to extract specs from listings (since they're not often strongly categorized). Quick blog post here: https://luke.zip/posts/pareto-pcs/

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
