What it does
Black Screen Record is a serverless, privacy-first web utility for iPhone, Android, and PC that records video using a dimmed blackout overlay. Protect your battery life on OLED screens by turning pixels completely off, and prevent suspended background processes with the Wake Lock API. Unlike other recorders, all video chunks are processed 100% locally on your CPU and stored in your browser's IndexedDB. Zero cloud uploads and a strict CSP ensure your data never leaves your device.
