Blackwork — Tattoo studio CRM
Built for tattoo studios, not salons
What it does
Blackwork is the booking, deposit and client system built for tattoo studios, not salons. Clients book via a link in your bio — placement and size asked once, deposit policy shown in writing. Deposits hold the slot the moment they land (cash, card or Venmo); unpaid appointments carry a visible warning. The week calendar is built for six-hour sessions, and every client gets one page: placement, healed photos, deposit history, multi-session projects. No analytics, no tracking — your data is yours.
Bookings, deposits and clients for tattoo studios. No more lost DMs, no more no-shows eating your day.
Bookings, deposits and clients in one place — so no inquiry slips through, no deposit gets lost in a Venmo thread, and no-shows stop eating your week. Every studio pays it every week. Three quotes from artists who live it: The machine, the ink, the hours. That's the business — everything else is administration. Built around the reality of the trade: long sessions, real hours, deposits that hold a slot, and a ledger that never nags you. Replace the DM dance with one link in your Instagram bio. It asks for placement, size, references — and shows your policy once, in writing. They read your non-refundable deposit policy before they commit, and the slot is held. The deposit is logged the moment…from blackwork.app

I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
