Boarda – Focused Offline Kanban Board

Recently I was reading about fluid simulation and stumbled upon the Gauss Seidel method. I got interested in how it works and made a program that visualizes the method in action. I had the idea of making an interactive book-like thing for a while, so took this as a chance to do just that. Note that touch input doesn't work and the layout is targeted towards bigger screens, so it doesn't function properly on mobile. It was fun to make and I wanted to share it. Maybe someone will find it useful. Corrections and feedback are welcome. Technical Stuff - A single 1.7MB HTML file with embedded…

In plain words

Boarda is an offline Kanban board application built with Zig and raylib for managing tasks and workflows. It supports multiple boards simultaneously, includes undo and redo functionality, and offers clipboard integration. The tool is designed for users who prefer working with Kanban boards without requiring internet connectivity.

Use timers for tracking cards. Here I set timer for 5 seconds. Start then pause it. Then remove the time. Copy and paste text into boarda. Open card links in thefrom thabetx.github.io

In the maker’s words, at launch

I like using Kanban boards, so I created a program to manage them using Zig and raylib. You can check it out here https://thabetx.github.io/boarda.html It can open multiple boards, has undo/redo, clipboard support, and many other features. You can read about in the page above or try it yourself.

TL;DR: We built Kanbanq, a minimal task management app for indies and small teams. It keeps Trello’s simplicity but adds proper backlogs, sprints, real-time collaboration and public board sharing. Free while in alpha, feedback welcome --- I’ve been working on Kanbanq with a friend. It’s a minimal task management app we built after getting frustrated with Trello. It was great for simple boards, but it falls apart when you need backlogs (that are more than just a giant list) or want to work in sprints. Kanbanq keeps the same clean feel but adds backlog management (our unique feature), sprints,…

  • Hi HN! I’m proud to share that we have built a real 3rd party iMessage client for Android. We did it by reverse engineering the iMessage protocol and encryption system. It's available to download today (no waitlist): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beeper.ima and there's a technical writeup here: https://blog.beeper.com/p/how-beeper-mini-works. Unlike every other attempt to build an iMessage app for Android (including our first gen app), Beeper Mini does not use a Mac server relay in the cloud. The app connects directly to Apple…

  • Hey! I made Heynote entirely for my own use case. For many years, I always had an Emacs instance running with the scratch buffer open, even long after I had abandoned Emacs as my programming editor in favor of more recent IDE:s. The simplicity of having just one big scratch buffer appeals to me, but I still want to separate the different things I jot down somehow (without using tabs or similar). Previously, my solution was to insert a bunch of blank lines between the notes, but hitting C-A would still select the entire buffer. That's why I came up with the concept of "blocks", which turned…
