BuddyBar

A color palette that floats alongside all your design tools.

BuddyBar launched on January 20, 2026.

What it does

Stop hunting for hex codes! BuddyBar keeps your color palette one click away in all your design app on the Mac. Save colors, organize them, and paste directly into color pickers. Available as a Mac app and Chrome extension with cross-device sync.

Your color palette, always within reach. BuddyBar works in Chrome (Figma, Canva, Rise, and more) and as desktop apps for Mac and Windows. Free to download.

A simple color palette that floats alongside your design tools. Copy hex codes instantly. Keep brand consistency effortless. This is a real, working BuddyBar. Click a swatch and the code is on your clipboard. Drag the bar wherever you like. That's the whole app. Click a color, it's copied. Everything else just keeps your palette tidy. Click any swatch and the code lands on your clipboard as HEX, RGB, HSL, or a CSS variable. You pick the default. Your last 8 copied colors stay one click away too. Add as many colors as you need and group them into templates: one per brand, client, or project. Export any template as a .buddybar file and hand it to a teammate. No account needed, ever. One click…from buddybar.io

Hey HN! I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents. I didn't write a single line of code. Of course no-code doesn't mean no-engineering. This project took a lot more manual labor than I'd hoped! I wrote a deep dive on the workflow and some thoughts about the future of AI coding and creativity: http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc
