What it does

Bt is a modern Java 8 BitTorrent library. It offers good performance, reliability and is highly customizable. Extension Protocol is the preferred way of building custom messaging on top of BitTorrent. There is a bunch of well-known messages: ut_pex ( Peer Exchange ), ut_metadata ( magnet: links ), and others. Bt provides a simple way to utilize the same mechanism to create custom protocols. In this tutorial we are going to create a simple extension that will let peers know what their external IP address looks like (or how this peer is seen by the others). In real BitTorrent this information is provided during the extended handshake procedure. Source code and runnable program are available…from atomashpolskiy.github.io

It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
