Cadence
lyric overlay floating over everything (Spotify & YTM)
What it does
Hey guys. Cadence started as a joke while playing MC with my close friends. It's a little overlay window that sings along with Spotify and Youtube Music and you can listen with your friends. I shared it with a few friends, and it silently grew to 100 downloads so I built it into a proper app. It works best with Spotify Premium, but it works without it. Have fun lol
Floating Spotify lyrics overlay: synced lyrics, 3D holographic frames, album theming - MowkE/cadence
A floating, click-through desktop overlay for Spotify and YTmusic — synced karaoke lyrics, an audio-reactive visualizer, album-adaptive theming, a 3D tilt with holographic frames, and a pile of toggleable effects. Now with listen along : share a link and your friends see your lyrics live. Mac, Windows + Linux. No terminal, no Python, no editor. Grab the installer for your machine: Cadence lives in your menu bar (Mac) / system tray (Windows & Linux) — that's where Show / Hide / Settings / Quit are. On Windows it also keeps a taskbar button , and if the overlay ever gets dragged off the screen it snaps itself back — or use Bring overlay back in the tray menu. Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
