Cash Cage

Settle your poker night in the fewest possible payments

What it does

Cash Cage tracks every buy-in and cash-out at your home poker game, then works out who pays who. A MILP solver finds the fewest transfers that square the whole table, or you can name a banker and have everyone settle through one person. Save each regular with their Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Apple Cash, or Zelle handle, pick the night's rounding, and share a summary where every payment already has a handle attached

Track poker buy-ins and cash-outs, settle the table in the fewest payments, and get paid — everyone

Cash Cage tracks every buy-in and cash-out, then squares the whole table from player-to-player in the fewest transfers or through one banker. Put everyone’s Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or Zelle handle right in the sharable summary. Direct settles player-to-player in the fewest transfers using math, not a naive everyone-pays-everyone split and no overly complex AI. Or name a banker and the whole table pays out like in a real table. Every player sets how they get paid with Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Apple Cash, Zelle, or cash. Pay from the app or share the summary Pick the night’s rounding preference from $1 to $50 (or exact) and settlements come out in amounts people can actually hand…from heagenb03.github.io

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
