Chimr

What it does

The only notification app that's actually impossible to ignore. Fullscreen meeting alerts with one-click join for Mac. Supports Zoom, Teams, Google Meet & more. AI-powered with MCP integration.

A macOS menu bar meeting reminder that counts down to your next event, chimes a minute before, and joins Zoom, Meet, or Teams in one click. Built-in MCP server lets Claude read your day.

Chimr lives in your menu bar and counts down to what’s next — then chimes a minute before , with one tap to join. It also speaks MCP , so Claude can read your day and open your next call for you. Switch modes, change the timing, or snooze — the menu bar reacts live. Motion is reduced. Use the controls to explore each state. Your next event and the minutes until it, always a glance away — and a red LIVE while it runs. A floating card slides in a minute before, with the countdown and one tap to join. Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, and Webex links, detected and opened for you. Any account already in the macOS Calendar app: iCloud, Google, Outlook, Exchange. Chime - Remember EverythingNov 2025 · usechime.app · ▲126

I struggle with time blindness and kept missing client Zoom calls. MacOS notification banners appear for 5 seconds and vanish...my brain can't hold onto them. I spent 2 months building a solution. What it is: Chime shows full-screen alerts that physically interrupt whatever you're doing. It's impossible to miss. Technical details: - Built entirely in Swift/SwiftUI using Cursor. - Uses EventKit for Calendar + Reminders integration - Todoist REST API v2 for task sync - All data stays local—no cloud sync How it works: - Syncs from Calendar, Apple Reminders, and Todoist every 1-30 min (This…

  Resurf▲301

Hi HN folks, Deep here. I am a design engineer and I have been building Resurf for the past 4 months. Resurf is a local first Mac app for quickly capturing notes, thoughts, ideas, inspiration, links, and files like PDFs and images without switching context. As a design engineer who cares a lot about craft, I built resurf because my “stuff I want to keep” was scattered across tabs, different apps, notes, screenshots, random folders, and I kept losing good references. A lot of tools exist, but I wanted something calm + polished that feels native on Mac (not another file manager). with Resurf…

  I'm an airline pilot – I built interactive graphs/globes of my flights▲1,539

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

  Workout.cool – Open-source fitness coaching platform▲827

I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
