What it does
A simple LLM chat front-end that makes it easy to find, download, and mess around with LLM models on your local machine.
I don’t get a lot of time to explore the world of machine learning (LLMs, Stable Diffusion, etc) so the biggest motivation was just the learning experience. Aside from that, I used a few other LLM frontends like dalai and wasn’t satisfied with the experience for a few reasons: Originally, I started this project with egui to learn the framework, but there was going to be enough custom UI stuff that I didn’t want to take the time to write the painting code for these elements. So I quit that and explored Tauri which (so far) has been a great experience to use. I saw this [0] pretty cool thread by user revskill, and wanted a quicker way to search through it, but also to keep them all in one place so I can read them at my leisure whenever I get time. Right now is like 60 lines of Ruby using Nokogiri, but I will certainly look into it further down the line and improve the list. There's a cronjob checking the thread every 12 hours but I will eventually shut that down and it will become static after that. There are some really awesome blogs in there.
