Chronoscape is a Mac app that changes your wallpaper with the real light and weather outside. One scene, every hour of the day.
Chronoscape shows one real place at the same hour and weather you’re actually having, then keeps it in step as your day moves on. Each scene is rendered at five moments between sunup and sundown. As the day moves on, the light on your desktop moves with it. Chronoscape checks the live forecast for your city and shows the version of your scene that matches it: clear, cloudy, rain, snow or fog. I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers.
