ChurchCalls.ai

AI voice agents, built for real church conversations

ChurchCalls.ai launched on June 12, 2025 with 22 votes, #721 of 7,999 launches that month and more than 90% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

What it does

ChurchCalls.ai empowers your church or ministry with an AI assistant that answers calls, gathers info, and bridges seamlessly to a live person—24/7. Never miss a moment to minister, inform, or connect—even when your team is offline.

Your church phone, answered every time — questions answered, messages taken, and urgent calls routed to the right person on your team. $19.99/mo, no setup fee.

When your team can't get to the phone, callers still get real answers. Messages get taken, callbacks get logged, and anything that needs a person goes straight to your team. Every call answered, every detail captured, and a written summary in your inbox before you're back at your desk. Staying reachable is one of the least expensive ways to grow — and one of the easiest to let slip. Most tools hand you a blank assistant and a manual. Yours already knows a church calendar from a sales call — and knows when to reach a personfrom churchcalls.ai

I made a chatbot-based search engine that does agentic RAG using the Youtube channels, websites, and google reviews of all churches in Boulder, CO I tried a couple different approaches to this, but the one I'm currently liking is a MapReduce approach that takes a query, does some pre-filtering, and maps it to the individual vector databases of all the churches. Then the Reduce step synthesizes the individual church results to return the response to a user For example, if you ask it "LQBTQ-friendly church" it will loop through asking all the individual churches the question "Are you…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

  • I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
