CipherChef

No-Code encryption builder

What it does

For fun and education! CipherChef is a visual programming environment designed to help you understand, prototype, and visualize how encryption algorithms and data transformations work. Instead of writing complex code, you can drag and drop transformation "layers" to build a pipeline. Watch your data transform in real-time, step-by-step, from plaintext to ciphertext and back again. Benchmark your pipelines, export to a simple converter app or a JS library.

    CipherStash Stack – Data Level Access Control in TS/JSMay 2026 · cipherstash.com · ▲17

Hi HN, I'm Dan Draper, founder of CipherStash. We've spent 5 years building per-value searchable encryption tech. We realized that encryption like this is incredibly powerful but the engineering required is generally not worth the effort. So we built a platform and opensource SDK to take the cry out of cryptography :) CipherStash Stack is: * A searchable encryption SDK for TS and Postgres * Fast, key management with Zerokms (backed by HSM) * A transparent SQL proxy * Auth library and OIDC federation service * Skills for data security Integrations include Prisma Next, Drizzle, Auth0, Clerk…

    Enc – A modern and friendly CLI alternative to GnuPG2023 · github.com · ▲90

Enc is a CLI tool for encryption, a modern and friendly alternative to GnuPG. It is easy to use, secure by default and can encrypt and decrypt files using password or encryption keys, manage and download keys, and sign data. Our goal was to make encryption available to all engineers without the need to learn a lot of new words, concepts, and commands. It is the most beginner-friendly CLI tool for encryption, and keeping it that way is our top priority.

    XTrace – Encrypted vector DB (search embeddings without exposing them)Apr 2026 · github.com · ▲13

Hey everyone! This is XTrace. Wanted to share what we’ve been working on for the past year. We built a private vector database from the ground up that performs similarity search on encrypted vectors. The server never sees your plaintext embeddings or documents. The problem we’re trying to solve: every vector DB today requires plaintext on the server. If you're doing RAG over sensitive data (medical, legal, financial), your embeddings — which researchers have shown can be inverted to recover original text — sit exposed on someone else's infrastructure. XTrace encrypts everything on your…
